My Elegance was doing great until recently I noticed it not opening up as much. Water parameters are great. No changes. Everything else in tank is looking good.

I did notice stuff on the base of it and not sure what it is. Good or bad? White round spots on it that got me worried

Elegance coral is notorious for going poof, after looking great for 4-6ish months, in well maintained waters.

It’s on the list of corals not liking captivity list along with long tentacle plates.

But some have been able to them successfully.

Sorry, I hope am wrong.

I've had no luck with them. I have had not one, but two, $270 elegance specimens in the tank. They look great for a few weeks then start melting down, ejecting a gooey white mass with dark spots in it. Then it's dead.

It's an expensive mistake I won't make again.

Did it ever bounce back for you?
