Eliciting Feeding Response

Looking for ideas to trigger the feeding responses for my LPS corals - trumpets, blastos, acans, etc.
Waiting for the lights to go out doesn't seem to work - my ramp down time on the lighting is 90 minutes and by that point most of the corals have closed up.

I find that most of these corals aren't fed and are weak from the lack of food. I just dump food on the all of the polyps and guard from maurading fish. I do this right after lights out. This also helps keep the fish and other scavengers off and away. This process will take some time because the corals are usually so weakened they need time to recover. As they recover their feeding response will start to return.

+1, feed your fish and inverts, then put a couple mysis shrimp right on there mouth, they should open up and eat there meal. Just make sure the shrimp doesn’t get blown off by pump/wavemaker

also effective= add a tiny pinch of frozen feed to the tank as seasoner 20 mins before the actual feed

do this at 4-6 am it'll work/they're already fully open by then anyway

I've always seen that if corals are fed at around the same time routinely, they begin to start feeding response at that time.

I've some how "trained" my LPS's. I always turn the pumps off to feed, I spot feed to make sure they all get fed. So whenever I turn off my pumps their feeding tentacles come out. Anything I do that requires the pump to be off for more than like 5 minutes they are ready to eat

I feed my scoly just about anytime of the day by just turning off my flow and just place a piece of shrimp around its mouth. Within a few minutes polyps come out and it eats the food.

Do you mix the RR to a heavy paste and target feed?

it doesn't even matter when i feed the RR, they will open right up. I usually feed in the afternoon/evening before i do a waterchange.

I scoop a tiny bit (small tank) into a detergent scooper thing and add enough water so it's all covered and liquid enough that i can suck it up with a long pipette. i then carefully squeeze it out onto the mouth area.

My scoly and lobo will open up before my eyes, its crazy how fast they will open to accept this stuff, its like crack for them or something.
