Hello I've had this emerald crab for about 3 weeks normal hides in my rock, but this morning my wife noticed it out on top not moving an seems to have a bubble on it.

Great thanks for the info, I removed a discarded. Not sure why it died, parameters where in check. Hermit still in good shape, was getting ready to stock with fish. Hesitant now.

New tank? Did you supplemental feed it? It might have starved. Your rock doesn't look super new, but hard to tell these days with pre-colored rocks etc...

Keep an eye out for it around the tank. I thought mine was dead but it just molted. The molted shell looked just like a whole crab. Even when i discarded it, it felt heavy like it was the entire deceased crab. Saw it the next day but slightly larger lol.

I've had fully intact coral banded shrimp molts, but not an emerald crab. That would be pretty cool.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
