Emerald crabs and bubble algae

My emerald crab doesn't touch the bubble algae. Should I re-home him and try again? Can I have a second crab in a 75 gallon display?

They are hit or miss, my first two ate bubble algae and coral! Since then I've had two that didnt eat either. My guess is that they prefer other algae if it is available.

I had gotten a second, but he had been mia since I put him in the tank, months ago! I have a male. Maybe I get a female and they won't bother each other...

I might just try a pitho crab, I hear they are much better. I think im going to get one soon, unfortunately you'll probably have to buy online so shipping costs :(

My first are the bubble algae then would eat nothing else and did. This one is an algae eating machine and has doubled in size. I agree with them being hit or miss. I inherited one from a tank that he wouldn’t touch bubble algae but in mine he did…re-home and try again bc when they help, they really help!

Well if he’s working on other stuff then just add another. You have room in a 75g.
