So some idiot, who is t fessing up, hit the bottom glass of my not yet built aquarium. 12mm glass corner has a crack in the corner under the bottom brace. I can’t buy another sheet of this glass man. It’s so expensive. It hasn’t been assembled yet and the chip isn’t moveable. I can just feel a bit of raw edge along the crack line.

What on God’s green earth do I do!?

The crack is that half tear drop shape in the top left of the pic.

Help me or one of my coworkers is gonna be on the news with me tomorrow 😅

Am I kinda ok going ahead putting the tank together?

The brace is on top and the crack is clean through like a jigsaw piece. This glass is 4x3

What's the total size of the tank and is that going to be at the top or bottom?

The bad news is that's it's probably a bad idea to assemble this tank regardless of what the answers are.

4x3x22. It’s at the bottom. It’s braced at bottom and will be at top as well. The side glass will be touching two pieces of glass at the bottom for stronger adhesion. It’s just this small corner.under a complete bottom brace.

So it's around 165 gallons? I'm gonna say to replace it. That sucks big time but adding 165 gallons of water into your floor in 6-12 months isn't going to make the situation better.

You can wait on some others to respond and see what they say. If it was me in your situation I'd be trying to find out what happened and asking if they'd pitch in on buying a new sheet of glass because, like I said, a tank that size failing in my house would probably cause me to quit the hobby (or cause a divorce with my wife)

I definitely would lean on the side of caution and replace that. I hate it!

Could I add a full sized piece of 3/8ths glass to sandwich it? It’s cheaper than the 12mm for sure and would act almost like a second or third bottom if you count the brace

Will it work, it might. Would I sleep at night - no and I'd love to.

My personal take, absolutely no other option but to replace it.

Find a company to make you an exact replacement, not cheap, but I wouldn't trust the broken one.

I see it as you could spend the couple hundred to replace the broken section. Or gamble and risk potentially tens of thousands in lost live stock equipment and home repairs. If I were in your position it would be a clear choice.
