Well last night I received a warning that temps in my pond exceeded 72*. My chiller died. Been buying bags of ice. Dropping 20lbs every 2 hrs. Keeping temps at 72.5*. My question is how high of temp can a the hounds and rays take for about 24hrs.
( order another chiller and having it overnighted). Going out every few hrs to load up on ice is killing me. And I need to get some sleep.

If you can keep the temps in the low 70s it shouldn't be an issue for a day. The sharks metabolism will speed up and they will swim nonstop. You could feed them for extra energy as they will be burning it quickly. Also, you can just pump water over a long distance to cool it, like 100'+.

I’ve got about 50ft of hose coiled up in a cooler filled with ice. Im not sure it’s doin anything. I just set it up. I also went out and purchased a huge commercial fan. Have it blowing directly on the pond. Looks like some serious hurricane chop. Lol. But temps are holding at 71.5 with no ice.

Oh something you should do is increase water agitation by a lot. Increasing water temperature decreases the amount of oxygen the water can hold which could be lethal to smooth hounds so anything you can do to increase water tension breakage will be helpful.

I’m buying bulk ice. There not exactly blocks but big chunks. I’m not sure where to even find blocks of ice.

Oh something you should do is increase water agitation by a lot. Increasing water temperature decreases the amount of oxygen the water can hold which could be lethal to smooth hounds so anything you can do to increase water tension breakage will be helpful.

I have two wavemakers. A 3k gallon per hr return. And now the fan it looks like a really bad storm in that pond. I can’t even see anything through it. I have a pretty big air pump I can throw in.

Is the fan breaking the tension of the water? If not it's not increasing O2. I'd throw in anything can make bubbles/break the surface tension. If you see the smooth hounds at the surface that's a sign of low O2 levels.
