Doesn’t seem to mess with the zoas but this is my first time encountering a bristle/fire worm. Please let me know if it’s a pest or another valued member of the CUC.

Bristle worm. A harmless detrivore, but many don't care for them as they can over populate the tank, and some can grow quite large. I wouldn't worry about them, but they can be trapped and removed if you'd like to do so.

Okay okay thank you! I’ll leave him, he’s pretty fun to watch!

Look at your tank when the lights are out with a flashlight. There are likely many more. They are free cleanup crew.

^^^ yep! I have a trap that I’ve used only once for this huge one that came out with the fish at feeding time! Then I got a six line wrasse to keep the population down and from ever getting as big as that sucker!

There was also 2 free hermit crabs that hitchhiked on the zoa rock… I got the whole thing for 20$ and it’s huge!
There’s also some giant non-photosynthetic clam that’s really interesting

This is a dorvillidae and a cousin to bristleworm and one I welcome if seen in my tank

Pretty cool little guy, not a photosynthetic one though
This is a bivalve and a relative of scallop family and often short lived although I had one make it 2 years. Thay are stationary filter feeders

I’ve had something like this in my tank for at least four years. It grows into a thin elongated more or less oval shape but the base juts out to one side. I put it on here for ID once but forgot what I found out. lol. Edit. Just looked it up and you helped me on that thread too.

Here’s the photos and info. It’s still around!

Anyways, it’s for sure a filter feeder which is likely good for helping with nitrates and organic waste!
