Woke up to this today. Anyone know what it is and what to do? Did a freshwater dip and found white dots in water afterwards. This is the only fish in this tank.

Woah, I know sometimes damsels and chromis look absolutely sretched when the lights come on because they dull at night. But at the same time it looks like it got scraped up. Is it just a different color? Or can you see scrapes on it's skin?

In my experience, depending on the light, Chromis will look like that at times.

Although their pigments change at times, this looks more like Uronema. If it remains constant, it’s likely that and will require treatment.

Thank you vetteguy I believe you are correct. What I have found online is not promising it appears the best approach is to euthanize this fish and wipe out the tank and start over? This is the only fish in the tank.
