I am a fan of Pico/Small nano tanks, and my Betta I have had for a long time died a couple days ago. But now I have a empty 2.5 gal topfin tank, with no ideas on what to do. I’m open on any ideas freshwater or saltwater(even though this is a saltwater forum) I have some small pumps and lights I can use, but I just don’t know what to use them for. I would enjoy and consider many different ideas, so if you have any let me know.

Here are some quick pics I took outside. Like I said there is nothing in it but I have some RO/DI water and some fritz salt I can use to fill it up right now. Just need some ideas

This was my pico in 2014. 2 gallons. Held a wide variety of corals. That being said if I were to do another pico I'd pick just a couple of types of corals, and maybe even a couple of colours only. All micro lords, or all zoas and palys, ect. Or a simple tank with gsp and pom pom xenia.

Why not do a zoa tank? Or just diverse mushrooms if your lighting will only support lower-light demand. A cool rock structure goes a long way!

That is one of the best picos I’ve seen in a while! That is what my family wants me to do, and a have a rock of around 80 zoa polyps(I know that is OD) I could frag/use. That is a good possibility but I would still like to hear some others.

I would do a sexy shrimp tank, but I don’t really have a good lfs near me that gets them, but if I can find a good place to order from I’ll highly consider it.

Right now I think I will do a small zoa/paly garden, and I’m filling and stirring the tank right now!

I have got the tank setup and it is now cycling! I have some hermits and zoas I can put in there, so how long should I wait? I have heard of people putting them in there after a couple days, and people waiting a month or so.

Ok. I’m okay to wait, but I just wanted to know when I could add them and if it was common for people to add them that quickly.
