Hi everyone.

I'm putting together a 20 gallon long tank. I was planning to use an aquaclear 70, and an empty oase biomaster 250 thermo filter as filtration.

I want to use the Oase filter because it comes with a build in heater, so that way I don't have to put the heater in the DT as I will not have a sump.

So two question:

-Do you think the empty canister filter will trap too many detrites?
-Do I have enough flow between the aquaclear and the canister filter, or should I add anything else? I plan to have soft corals and some easy LPS.

Thanks.

For easyness sake, I would go with a hob filter, and yes I do think you need powerheads. I have a 15 gallon softie tank with a small hob mainly to run carbon, and 2 sicce voyager nano powerheads, and weekly water changes, the tank is 3.5 years old now. This is the easiest set up for a salt tank IMO
