Encrusted coral?

so I am a complete noob to the hoppy. I am slowing getting all my stuff together for my build. so my question is when in comes to coral I see a lot of titles saying (encrusted) now can some one help me understand what that means? Thank you for your help

It grows/spreads over a surface like rockwork, glass ect

Oh ok I was not sure if it meant the plug was encrusted with coralline or somthing

I could see how that could be confused
