Hey everyone I've been thinking about posting a build thread for a while for my 5gal and finally felt like getting around to it :D im excited to share the progress! I started out with a Marineland portrait glass 5 gall tall kit. In sum you don't need the back filtration area it does more harm then good so I cut it out and removed the black background tape to do what I liked with the tank! Now for equipment I decided to go with a Fluval Aqua Clear 20, not sure on the heater but set to 78 degrees, Hygger Mini Wave Maker and NICREW 30W Reef LED.
CORALS: (Zoas) Maryjanes
Lunar Eclipses
Space Chaos

Little Shop of Horror
Utter Chaos (LPS) Aussie Gold Hammer
Vivid's Alien Brain
Duncan
Unknown Chalice (Pink mouth Purple Body)
Dragon Soul Favia
Papaya Clove Polyps
Dark Gold Acan-lord
Tropical Acan-lord (SPS) Jedi Mind Trick Monti
Flaming Phoenix Monti
Tri Color Valida
Reef Raft Acro Mille (unknown picking up at LPS later today) (NPS) Yellow Finger gorgonian
Livestock wise everyone's doing well! my Helfrichi seems to have had a fungal infection for the last few days but with top offs and water changes it made a good recovery :D
Coral wise its been going well, my Duncan and Zoas have been sprouting new heads and gaining size
Here was the tank during its first iteration! Rip Birdnest I burned it with the light and learned my lesson. Cyphastrea and Pulsing Xenia got moved to another tank though
Update #1: Big changes going on here, yessir! I ended up thinking things over and I didnt have the rock structure I really envisioned at the start of setting up my reef. So I pretty much started over and kept one rock which houses the goby and pistol shrimp pair. In addition I added 2lb more of sand because I could never fully bury frag plugs
Furthermore I made a few coral additions:
Green birdnest, Tri-Color Valida, Unknown reef raft acro, Rainbow Acan-lord and a Rainbow frogspawn
Update #2: Cleaned some things up for a more tidy tank and added a few things! Time to make a cool chart to document the additions and removals! I'm really proud of how things are coming along! and special thanks to @CCK_8814 for the amazing octo! I recommend him if you're eyeing anything he's selling!
