Engineer Goby spit this up

Over last two days I have seen my engineer Goby stick it's head out of one of its caves and spits this stuff out. I am used to seeing them spit out sand. Rocks or shells from it's caves but not this before the last three days. Anyone know what this is? The Goby seems perfectly healthy. Nice and fat. Just spitting this stuff up.

It’s poop! Lol my jawfish both do this and the first time I saw it, I was shocked. They’re just doing a little housekeeping.

yeah mine does this too. Spits this poop out(must've been his) from his hideout... and then my goby instantly puts it in his mouth and spits it out too.
