I have two questions!
I bought A court jester goby from Affordable Aquaria I was wondering if anyone has ever dealt with them? I'm asking because it took 5 weeks to get him with no weather concerns or anything. I contacted them just wondering when I would be receiving him and they were very short saying may in the next week or two I am new to the hobby and this is my first shipped fish, is it normal to wait that long? He seems healthy and very active for a shy fish.
My second question is I believe he is wild caught is keeping a healthy population of copepods enough for him? I have a blenny that is extremely well target fed but so far i cant seem to get the jester to stick around when i target feed. I also do live brine and when I feed my blenny 3 times a day i will squirt some mysis and blood worms in his little rock cavity. I see him pick through the sand and off the rocks but i dont know if he's actually eating anything. I've been letting hair algae grow a little bit but he doesnt seem interested
What I'm asking is there more I can do to ensure he is eating? Thank You!!!!

I don't live in the U.S. so I can't answer the first although 5 weeks for anything sounds long to me.

Mine never eats when I feed the tank and I've had mine for 4 years. It picks at the rocks and sand all day, eating micro fauna. Hopefully your tank is a few months old at least, if not then it might be challenging for it to get enough food. Unfortunately I don't think you should try to squirt food at it, its unlikely to eat and it will degrade the water quality. Its a tough spot to be in, sorry and hope someone has better advice for you, good luck.

I agree that five weeks seems a little long.

When I say I squirt food I don't mean at him just in the rocks he likes to hide in my thoughts were he may get some mysis out of the sand and maybe get accustomed to the target feeding. I understand what you are saying and you are right. Unfortunately, I have to over feed the tank due to the blenny so I have to be aware of uneaten food degrading the water quality and take the necessary precautions to keep the water quality in good standing. However, I do agree with you and will likely stop squirting any food in his cave. My tank is almost a year old so it's pretty established it is a fluval 13.5 with a blenny the jester a clown and a good clean up crew. I put copepods in twice a month.

Thank you very much for your advice I really appreciate it!!

I thought it was as well. If it was weather conditions I would have understood but the weather was fine. I also would have been understanding if the response I got from them was more professional. Thank you for your input!!

If the tank is a year old then I wouldn't worry about feeding it. I'm sure you've noticed it picking around at rocks and stuff, thats what it does all day
