Eproxy Putty disaster on my tank

Hi guys, my 90 gallon tank is cycling for 25 days, then i decided to add some rock in water and founded the Alteco A+B eproxy putty to glue the rock. I used 1 pack and suddenly my tank turned cloudy, my skimmer became crazy and generated white powder. I have to 100% water out, and dissembled pump, pipe, wave maker, skimmer for cleaning, also the 25 day olds rock was out. All of them when dry have a white biofilm and i’m suspect it’s due to the powder in Eproxy, should i get rid of the rock & buy new equipments & new rocks ? Does uncured eproxy putty part A / Part B particle (if any) in very small amount can leak toxic in future. I don’t know what to do now before cycle again.

Once it has reacted and hardened the epoxy in a reef tank provides a suitable surface for coral to grow on. The “white film” if it is not loose should not be an issue.

The skimmer going nuts is the typical reaction when 2part epoxy clay is used to adhere frags, ime.

I would rinse everything thoroughly to remove any loose debris and start cycling again.

No idea I would Trust Above . Next time mix the epoxy with reef safe glue especially when adding coral . Lots of info around about that . Speeds up cure time I had no event like you at all . It is nice to have another person when your ready one ( you ) to clip the frag pucks smaller and another to apply the mix and hand it back to you to place according to your PLAN

Thanks for the advice. The white film is loose and chalky (i can easily clean it by hand) after glass and equipments dry, i can do the second rinse. What i’m worry is rocks and some parts inside the pump can not dissemble for cleaning and may contain some of this white film (which i don’t know it’s toxic or not ). Same for rocks. Some guys tell me to soak the rock & pump into vinegar to dissolve the white film then give it a rinse

Also i noticed after glue the rock with eproxy putty and cloud appeared, the green/brown algea on the rock was peel off and water seem to be hotter which make me quite worry about the toxic issues.

That will happen when you use a lot of the putty. The putty will drive your skimmer wild for a few days. Just let your skimmer keep pulling it out, if your skimmer has an outlet hose you can let the skimmate pour into a bucket.

If the stuff is coating your rocks then maybe you don't have enough flow yet in the tank. Get a powerhead or a turkey baster and blast the rocks, get that stuff back into the water so the skimmer can skim it out. It takes a few days IME.
