I'm making this thread to help out people like me that fail to organize cables and equipment. In this thread post a before and after or just a before and people can help you out with ideas or simply get inspiration from others so you can organize your tank.
I’ll start off with mine
I plan on cleaning it this weekend so here is the before:

What great timing you have with this post!

I am in the middle of restarting my tank. I had a velvet scare about a month ago that luckily ended up being ich. I took all my fish out and put them in qt and decided this is the perfect opportunity to redo my aquascape and clean all my equipment. Then things happened, I got distracted by my dog getting injured and passing away so everything just sat around for awhile.

I just started working on my equipment organization over the weekend. While I wait for my new rock to get here, I’ve been working on my electronics cabinet. I still have to take some more pictures and finish the wiring, but once it’s time to get wet again, all I’ll have to do is plug everything in and calibrate.

This is the only after picture I’ve taken so far.

I was just thinking of doing this sometime soon as well! I hope I can get some clever ideas!

I have mounts for all my controllers, just nothing to mount them on that looks nice.

Supper happy with the out come. I’m going to get some cable cover clips. The duck tape is just until they come.

Do you know basic wood working skills like how to cut a piece of plywood and drill holes. If not you could probably get a local wood worker or friend to do it for you. All you need is a piece of ply wood cut to size with some holes in it. Then I would use some type of office cord concealer like the green ones shown above and just paint the plywood and mount your controller. Let us know how it goes if you go this route. If you don’t mind spending a bit you can always buy a controller board online.

Do you know of a local maker space. They often have table saws.

That’s a good idea, not that I know of but I’ll look into it. I can also use table saws and drills at my LFS, I’m cool with them. I should of thought of that before.
