I have always just used tap water to rinse sand and rock. Put your sand in, cover the bottom with Saran Wrap slowly add the water, gently pull up the Saran Wrap and then add rock. No this is not what I did this time, but I have done it in the past. Old school.. LOL!

Oops I am too late. Yes add the clarifier that came with the product. Mine stayed cloudy for a couple of days with a mechanical filter in the tank. Were you in a hurry? :P

i would leave all filters water movers off for 6-8 hours let settle a bit

Yes add the packets it really helps

I believe some sand comes with clarifier, so it is fine to add that. It helps the particles stick together and they are easier to filter out.

I would run the filter removes all the particles clean filter tomorrow. It will be nasty. It will be clear in a couple of hours. Than you can start adding the dry rock

Yes, I would keep the water moving and add socks or floss to start to clear the water.

I had been thinking of running the filter, just to speed things up. Evie's bummed that she can't see anything lol (sorry @fishguy242) I've got some poly-fil that we use for out FW tanks. Will that work?

Looks about right. Your canister will make very short work of the cloud.

Holy moly! It‘s never been that cloudy when I added sand to mine lol
