Hey everyone! I'm hopefully getting back into the hobby soon with the Eshopps Deskmate 4.8 tank. There are some threads here and there, but I wanted to try and get a place where they're ALL together!

Throw in your pictures here. Could be barebones that you've just started and the tank is completely stock, or it could be full blown tweaked out with crazy lights, extra pumps, etc. Can't wait to see what y'all have put together, and hopefully I"ll be able to add my contributions soon!

Welcome back to the hobby, here is my Deskmate. It’s going to be a softie reef tank with some rock flower anemones. Maybe some nps corals? But right now it’s going through a 4 month no light period so it’s going to be empty for a while :(

Thanks!

Any reason for the 4 month no light period? Are you having to starve something out in the tank?

And just like that I'm back! My in-laws just surprised me with an early birthday present!

Going to get my water this weekend to start my cycle! Just put in a small order for some essentials at BRS.

PUMPED!!

Excited for you! Will you be using RODI?
Yup, 100% My LFS sells Red Sea Blue bucket pre-mixed (I don't have a water system at the house), So i'll be picking up my jugs from them. Going to get 3 buckets, 2 Salt for the initial mixing, and then 1 plain RO for topoffs.

I'll also eventually get one of those Kraken Reef covers, but in the meantime I"ll be putting a piece of plexi or glass over the tank to slow the evaporation level

I love mine. I just have to figure out how to scrape some coraline off the bottom near the sand line without scratching the crap out of the acrylic.

Any updates?
I just picked up the new Florida to match my original!

I was looking at getting one of these but I've always done glass. How do you scrape coralline off of acrylic without scraping it?
use an acrylic scraper

I use the Flipper Nano Scraper. Been using it for about 5 months now, and it hasn't scratched the acrylic at all!

There's also a pad on the one side that you can rub across the glass that will prevent film build up!
