The bulk of that will be skimmed out of the water column before it can be utilized by the system. Another consideration would be any unused fertilizer left in the culture spiking your nutrients. Four ounces at 30ml per liquid ounce is roughly 120ml, and about a right-sized dose, IMO. I think that 8 - 16 oz. Is pretty high for your sized system. Just my 2 cents. Others with more experience may have different opinions.
There's 3 more pages of content so I'm probably way behind - I have started thawing my frozen in phyto - just enough to cover the cubes daily. Pony tank thaws in a shot glass and peninsula thaws in a small jar. That way 1 - I'm more consistent in remembering to dose daily and 2 - I'm not overdoing it.

That is exactly how I do it and for the same reasons. Frozen gets thawed in phyto, garlic, Selcon, and vitamin mix.

I was hoping to work on Phyto and get some stuff ready for pods arriving Tuesday or Wednesday but I went to the Outdoor Expo in the morning (my kids got to practice fly fishing and got to shoot a couple of firearms so that was cool!), then took the Yukon through emissions, bought some fish for the freshwater 110, and then went to dinner. Long day. Hopefully this afternoon I'll work on the Phyto.

Tetra and Nanno are doing good. Probably need to cut the Tetra into two so I don't lose it if one crashes. Tiso and Rhodo are gone.

Tisbe are still there but not really populating. I need to clean the jar today.

Update from Sunday: glad I cut the Tetra - 1 jar is actively crashing. Nanno won't slow down. Tisbe has some pods - not a lot, not super active, but they're there.

Apoc and Tigger pods will be here tomorrow. Rotifers will be here tomorrow. I mixed up some fresh salt for them and am getting the jars set up and ready to go.

Reef Nutrition order hath arrived! Pods are looking very active and there's a lot of them in there! Rotifers is a lot larger bag than I anticipated. I may need a bigger jar...

Not enough time right now so I'll bring them to temperature when I get home and add a small portion of each to the tank after lights out and then add the rest to the culture jars that are set up.

For the rotifers, I've got a half gallon and a 1 gallon jar I can use for now and then I'll probably look at upgrading to a jar with a spout in the nearish future. Or going with a 5 gallon bucket eventually. I'd love to grow as many pods as I can and my Nanno is going quite well and over producing I feel like. Tetra definitely had one jar crash but the other one appears to be growing.

Ok, Apoc pods - single jar for now. I need to disinfect more jars and then split that one.

Tigger pods - that bottle was SUPER full so I made 2 jars of them. Might need to split into a third.

Air pods - don't have them, don't want them.

Rotifers will be tomorrow in a gallon jar. I'm a little concerned with them - the water is brownish, not green, and I don't see much movement but I know rotifers are pretty tiny.

Print started good. I need to adjust my z-hop I think, it broke off one of the spirals.

I forgot to get a picture of the finished project. It broke the second spiral off (the one with the supports...) so the third spiral got a little stringy.

I reprinted this but it started clicking at about 75%. On the spirals I noticed that it's starting to curl up at the tips when it goes to the next one.

1000006793.jpg

Here's the basic "design" of the spirals (except they're upside down). There are 6 - 3 pointing right, 3 pointing left. It gets about halfway through the spiral and the end starts curling upwards and hitting the nozzle when it swings back over to print the next layer. I think I can adjust my z-hop a little more (it's only at 0.2) and maybe add some cooling fan.

Also, interesting thing - I manually leveled my print bed again yesterday and the next thing printed flawlessly (a single spiral on a base). Then, dummy me, I did an auto bed level and the right side of the print bed was too low and not adhering and the left side was too high and almost gouging the glass...

I'll have to check when I get home. Looking at the Ender 3 Pro, the display is a little different and the menu options are different but I have been in the Motion options so I'll see if the Bed Leveling is there.

I'd have my wife or daughter do it now but I installed a smart plug because the switch is a pain to access where I have the printer installed.

It looks like there is a Marlin firmware update available that adds tramming if mine doesn't have it already.
