He's asking for that. I haven't yet but I will. It's not really a big deal since they both only read as "WET" they don't do me any good.

It seems to be the round ones that are failing. The square ones (newer design?) are doing fine. I've had one of the squares fully submerged in my ATO reservoir for over a year at this point and it's going strong. One round one in my DT for about 3 months and it failed.

My square ones are fine as well, except the tri-level one and a good RODI cleaning seems to have fixed it.

That was Ehiem's policy on heaters many years ago, not sure if they still have a lifetime warranty ?...

We have some air cleaners with lifetime warranties that used to require we cut off the cord and photo it but they dropped it after a few years and just replace without question now.

They probably figured out that a soldering iron and some heat shrink tubing could put it back in action pretty quickly if you're trying to cheat the system. It just rankles me a bit to have that extra, useless, step and, to me, infers an immature warranty department.

When is the last time you tested the square one in your ATO reservoir?

Every time the level gets too low. It triggers the ATO off. It shut off two weeks ago.

I found my Inkbird to be pretty accurate against the temp reading on a HM Digital TDS Meter but I have a Hydros (Auto Aqua) temp sensor as a backup on the tank.

Same. I use the "preset" heater with an Inkbird and Hydros on my little 8 gallon. All 3 were reading within .1-.2 °F of each other when installed. Now there's about a .5°F differential.
