Let me tell yall, I was on the brink of throwing in! So I just got done with a dino blackout last week and have been free since and everything was looking great except low levels of ca,mg,alk. I wanted to get the tank perfect for my fish babies to go back in and decided to thoroughly inspect and clean all equipment. Took out the refractometer and I was going to calibrate it but didn't have any solution so I made some and my tank was reading 1.010! I couldn't believe it so I went and bought some calibration solution and sure enough, 1.010. I haven't calibrated for atleast 6-8 months!!! How have my fish and corals been alive? I believe this was the reasoning behind dinos!!! Thoughts?

With salinity you can go downward a lot quicker than going upward

You should always raise SG only a couple of points every other day.

The two main pillars of reef stability are TEMPs and SG. If you don't control and monitor those, you should quit and take up gardening

Hyposalinity not unusual especially in wholesale facilities with holding tanks
I did read that they will do it for ich and parasites. I'm just so happy that finally something makes sense after the long battle with everything. Thanks for the help!
