So, I understand that you should keep Anthias in odd numbers. It also seems you can keep two types of Anthias in a tank with success. I am looking to add both Dispar and Ignitus Anthias to my 210 gallon SPS Dominant tank. I am confused on whether I should keep odd numbers of each or should the total of both be odd.

For example, should I keep 3 Dispar and 4 Ignitus which give me an odd total number of Anthias or 3 Dispar and 3 Ignitus so I have an odd number of each?

I would love any feedback on this plan. Am I missing something?

Yea, fish can’t count. The odd number thing is a myth.

mine slowly disappear so you may start out odd but end of even.

Fish can't count! That is absolutely hilarious. Seems I was overthinking things. Thank you all for your feedback.

Doesn't matter as long as its more than just 2 …… FWIW dispar and ignatus are essentially regional varieties of the same fish so I would think of them as a single group. These are not quite as homicidal as lyretails or bartlett, so the 'buy all females' thing isn't as imprtant.

Thank you for all the replies. I ended up with 4 Dispar and 3 Ignatus.
