I have one that is 3/4 this size. I bought my emperorer as a juvenile and it is hands down the fastest growing fish I have ever seen. You can almost watch it grow. They are indeed awesome fish.

IMHO that fish deserves to stay in the ocean and breed and live out its life. That's why they're aquaculture programs to avoid taking from the ocean. This hobby should be an advocacy for ocean preservation not ocean deconstruction. Ok rant over.

The fish is gorgeous. Makes you rethink the tank size some people keep angels it. I would love to see someone grow one out from a 2 incher to that size.

I bought one almost as big as a 50cent coin a month or so ago. The tank is way to small for this little guy to get that big. Bummer. He east pellets only right now. I do dream to have an Andel like this with a tank to house her and others as big. :D:D:D:cool:

No - mine are not all captive bred - but still - this guy has made it his entire life - and now going to be stuck in a tank. I hope the tank is huge

If that was wild caught I say put it back. I don't mind buying wild caught juveniles but when they have survived long enough to grow that big in the ocean let it be. Beautiful fish

I have yet to have a tank big enough for Angels (one day, maybe when I stop moving lol) but I try to make sure all the fish I stick my tank with are captive breed.

had a 16" one come into the store i use to work at sold for i think 800, came in with a giant tilefish too that was like 20"
