I've been doing 5 gallon water changes weekly. I usually toss and turn the idea of doing 2 gallons instead of 5. What are your guys thoughts on this?

I'm not too sure if doing almost a 40% water change (5 gallons) weekly is good for the beneficial bacteria, unless you're trying to rid yourself of an infestation of some sort.

IMO 2 gallons should be enough weekly as long as you're ontop of it.

Thanks for the reply, I just constantly turn the thoughts in my head.

+1 I have the same tank and while I'm used to doing bigger water changes(20-30g) I'm always tempted to do a 5g water change. I since have realized by doing a 2g WC weekly, it'll help keep the numbers closer to stable rather than doing a 40% change and making drastic number changes. Especially if you plan on keeping SPS.
