Evolution pure reef bio balls

Hi how long do these bio balls take to dissolve I used them years ago on different set up just started them on newish tank been running around 3 months but these balls ore dissolving within an hour, does this seem right I remember it wasn’t this fast fast before ???

I have used these as mentioned in other set up but they last at least a couple of days

Is there a reason to want it to dissolve slowly? I’m not seeing a reason to need slow release of bacteria and enzymes (maybe not a reason to want it at all, IMO).

But the water flow around it will alter the dissolution rate.

I was just questioning the difference both similar tanks and set up. Temp the same , is it dissolving quicker because the need tank needs it???

No, that is not likely. Is it possible the new tank has more flow over the balls?
