Apologies, forgot to do this last night like I said.

So here’s the shimmer without a filter. I really need to just take that TV down. Hasn’t been used in years since my divorce and I put the tank up. The shimmer would probably be more enjoyable than it currently is.

All good man we all have lives to live, thanks for still posting it! And it looks great imo

Hi everyone,

Haven't been online much for the last few weeks, we've been dealing with some pretty raw real-life stuff but we're making it out ok.
Small update. Cycle has been completed for a bit now, we've had a 2 hermits, 2 nessarius and 2 astreas in there for 2 weeks already. We just picked up a wheeler's goby (named Shrimp: the Goby) and pistol shrimp (Lobster) from our LFS and now eagerly wait for them to pair. The pistol is a chunky boi and bigger than the wheeler's, so we'll see how that pans out.
Sidenote, Shrimp is a tiny little guy! We're concerned with him jumping out through the 1/4" net screen. Replacing that with some much smaller holed screen today to make sure he stays safe. He jumped at least 10 times just trying to net him.
N-fill ATO is ordered and in the mail, as are 5280 pods and phyto to feed the pods.

We plan on running it another month before introducing light so that the biome has the best chance at holding up against the uglies. Hope to add pics of Shrimp and Lobster soon.

Sad day, Shrimp the Goby couldn't help himself and had to find a way to jump out of the tank on day 3 and turned himself into a potato chip.
Our usual store didn't have any other shrimp gobies, but another ended up having a captive bred yasha goby that we took home.
They're already paired up and and excavating everything in sight!

Lobsters name has changed to Toby, and our Yasha Goby is named Gaston due to the chin on that dude!
Toby also stole all the extra shells we had for the hermits. We added 2 red-banded trochus snails today to get a breeding population going and hopefully start a supply of snail shells for the hermits and Toby.

Nicrew has some nice lights as well. I’m a ReefBreeders fan myself and running a Meridian 11 over an IM 25 lagoon. It was being sold on Marketplace for 200 less than new and only 2 weeks old so I grabbed it. Otherwise Nicrew or the new NooPsyche IV pro were my thoughts.
Totally missed this before, my bad. Nicrew Navareef 65 is actually floating to the top for me lately.

Update!
We ended up going with the Nicrew Navareef 65 for the light. Also replaced the 1/4 inch netting of our lid with much smaller screen from Lowes.
Everything is going well so far with lights on, waiting for the inevitable diatom bloom on the sand and for everything to start growing.
