Here is a video of my friends firefish, I'm thinking about getting one myself however I wanted to hear the wisdom of the crowd regarding your experience with them rather than listen to just one person that's had success

They are really cool. I had a pair a few years ago but my shallow tank, minimalist scape and no top didn't make for a good environment for them. They both jumped so as long as you have a top and rock for them to hide in until they get comfortable I would say great fish to have.

Totally agree, a lid is a must. I feel like firefish in general are a little prone to being bullied. I would suggest a smaller, but appropriate sized home where they can be the top predator to get the most of of seeing them all the time.

I have kept all three kinds.
It really depends on what fish you have already. If you have bigger fish like a tang they can boss them around and they can start hiding in the rocks all the time. You can even see it happen in that video.

If you have other smaller peaceful fish they are a cool fish to have. I found they are pretty easy to keep. Besides being easily spooked and bullied. Mine hides a lot but does come out for food. Some are jumpers so you have to have something to keep them from jumping.

Very peaceful, but with peaceful tankmates are quite hardy. They are not very active, usually hovering in the vicinity of their bolt hole, vut will jump if frightened so a good cover is necessary. They are not picky eaters either.

Reef lobsters can definitely be a risk with small fish.

I have 2 in my tank. At night when it is less bright, they make short dances very interesting. Maybe 1 day I will make a video. I used to have a golden midas and they don't get along with the midas well. I finally had to decide to take the midas out and they have been happy ever since. 1 of them did jumped out of the tank which is euro embraced at 1 time because of the midas. I was lucky to be right there. They never jump unless not happy with the environment from my experience. They do sleep down under the sand or cave so yeah, lobster might snack them. I don't have any lobster so I am good :)

I have a new tail spot blenny and I saw 1 of the helfrichi scaring/biting him off. The tail spot just moved to the other side of the tank and things have been good.
