Experience with Biota Regal Angels?

I would love to know your experience with captive bred regal angels.

In particular, should I worry about my clams?

I have a mixed reef, with lots of euphylia, fimbriaphylia, a handful of favia, a handful of acros, and a handful of montipora. I have already had to rehome a naughty Moorish Idol. He ate everything...including my reef.

Thoughts on the percentage-chance that my clams and coral survive the addition of a Biota regal angel?

0 percent for your clams as that what my WC Regal likes best (candy). He has not bothered my Duncans or Euphyllia yet.

My Regal angels do not bother my clams. I had a number of WC and on CB Regal Angel. Even my CBBs really love steamer clams do not bother my Tridacna clams.

Biota captive regal angel is fine in a reef tank with SPS, most LPS. I came across this thread after posting in one about coral eating, and "should I get one" because they are tough to keep or acclimate.

I've had difficulty with wild caught indian ocean, red sea, and indo ones in the past though.
The fish is so cool, it's worth trying, and it's meant for a reef tank v fish only. If you have colonies of corals, they won't mess with them. (they can get curious though) They aren't easy to to get acclimated and can be shy, but also why they're interesting.

I've had them with Derasa clams (large) and didn't nibble, but not other clams. I currently have no clams anyway b/c I have a large emperor and clams seem to not work for me anyway once they get to football size.

I had my Clam for around 10 years. Then I put a Yellow belly Regal Angelfish from the red sea and within a few days my clam was dead. I didn't actually see him do anything but to me it seemed likely it was the Angelfish

I purchased a very small regal from biota. Put it in the main display per their instructions and it was the last time I saw it. Never even got a glimpse of it.
I’ve had much better experiences with other vendors with fish.

I just got a tiny Yellow Tang that come from them. It's so small I have him in a acclimation box until he gets a little bigger.

Small 1/2 inch Regal Angel will not survive in a normal reef tank. IMO a grow out area or dedicated tank is needed. I grew mine in a lighted sump of my QT system for about 1 year. Could released him sooner but he was doing great there and very personable and tame in there. I enjoyed keeping and feeding him there so I keep him there way longer than needed.

That's lovely looking regal and one of a kind! Did it cost more to get the hybrid?

It seems to juvenile pattern, it will be interesting to see how it turns out to be. Pl keep posting pictures.

He is a 2 inches Regal. It is the adult color pattern.
