The mantra goes that maricultured corals carry pests and have lower survival rates compared to aquacultures corals. I presume the same goes for those corals from Bali Aquarium? What is your experience?

On a different note, their coral photo shoots are so color enhanced that I wish I could see some amateur photos of their corals to get a more realistic idea of their colors.

I just imported a box of acros from Bali a couple of weeks ago. It didn't come from Bali Aquarium though.

18 colonies. 2 DOAS, 5 other colonies died over the course of a few weeks. The remaining are holding on strong with no sings of them going down hill.

Zero Pests. Yes, ZERO. I dipped in Melafix, then a combo of Interceptor and Chemiclean. I inspected the dip water after each round with magnification. I inspected every colony afterwards with a Jewelers' Loupe. The only thing that came in with the corals were commensal acro crabs, which I killed almost all of accidentally with the interceptor.

Follow up checks on all the colonies revealed no presence of eggs, or bite marks of any kind. I recheck them twice weekly still for about another 2 weeks.

Here they are a few weeks ago (all on the barebottom), still coloring up and recovering.
