I am now adjusting my 50's to get more color.
I am at red, white, and green at 30%.
The rest 80%.
Im at 280-300 at the top of the rocks.
Colors look better and even at 30% white the tank is bright with no windex.
I think the 40 whites at 50% washed out some of the colors.
Time will tell but they already have more color just from turning them down today.

Yea the 9430dc is a very underrated skimmer.
Mine is 6years and going strong.
I wanted to get a backup pump but instead found a complete 9430dc for sale for less than the new pump. I now have 2 complete backup skimmers for less than the price of a new one.
Used ones are around from time to time.

Let me know if you’d be interested in selling one of them. Would love to use have one for my new build

They are not for sale.
Check ebay and here as they are for sale but go quickly, imo.

6 months 2 weeks and counting.
Tanks doing well.
No3 is around 30ish.
Po4.05.
I purchased a deltec nitrate reactor and it should be here this week.
I will set it up looking for <5 no3 tank wide.
No issues with no3 I just prefer to run it at <5. Should help color some as po4 is steadily below 0.1.

Forgot to mention I have 2 48" OR4 UV bars comming this week. They will go between the 2 50's.

Deltec nitrate reactor is up and running. A little over 1 liter of media. Reborn on top to keep the sulfer in place.
Running 1 drop per second to start. Kamoer is set at 20mlm to get 60 drops.
Now dripping carx and nitrate effluent into reborn media basket.. Was dripping carx into skimmer exit tube.
I am drawing water from my skimmer tube, works well.

Deltec says run 6-8 weeks before nitrate bacteria get established.
Current no3 is 35 and I want it to be <5.

MY plan is to get the reactor running 1-2 no3 tank wide. <5 max.

Po4 is .05 currently with alk at 7.5.

How did you maintain nitrate in the old(90 or 120g) system?
Both the 120 and 80 were plumbed into a 30g remote fuge then nem and corals.
The 30 had 3+" of sand.
Sand bed is blacked out.
No3 was always <5 on both.
80+120.

I love tanks that have coralline on all three sides with just a clear front viewing panel. However I don’t think I could ever bring myself to do it lol

The nitrate reactor is putting out 60 drops pm @ 4mlm on the Kamoer.
It will take 6+ weeks to get the reactor to bring my nitrates down from 30+ to > 5.

My whites are set to 40%.
About 2 weeks ago I set them so the white starts at 40% at 2pm then peaks at 80% at 3pm then back to 40% at 4pm.
These pics show how halide like the peak is with the white at 80%.
This gives a real daylight look at 3pm that I like.
