I've always used Vinegar but it ruins the spray bottles so don't bother buying an expensive one. That and a micro fiber towel have always worked great for me. API makes a non toxic glass cleaner that's a green color. I've used that too but it feels like it leaves some sort of film or coating on the glass.

That film makes it water stain and finger print resistant

I use a white soft terry towel to wipe my glass. After ever water change I spray some windex on some bounty paper towel (away from the tank) and I use it to clean the residue that forms on the glass then follow up with a terry towel every few days.

I know about newspaper and paper towels and vinegar and all those other methods. Want to point that out first so you don't think I'm completely off my rocker. I use toilet paper. That's it, no water or vinegar. Just dry toilet paper. It cleans the saltwater drips off amazingly well. Just try it before you knock me.

USed ro and microfiber. NO Windex near the tank - (only windex should be at a frag swap where everyone is afraid of natural looking light :) )

Rubbing alcohol works great on the outside glass, but instead of paper towel I use newspaper. squeaky clean!

moisten a paper towel with RO water (I use RO to prevent leaving behind hard water deposits) Then wipe dry with dry paper towel.

Vinegar and water mixed in a spray bottle...about 1/4 cup to a quart of water. Cleans the glass, acrylic, tank stands...wipe with paper towels till dry.

I use windex and a towel.. if I really want it clean though, I'll use ro/di water and a microfiber cloth meant for cars...

ive used that API green colored stuff and think its terrible.. newspaper, RO, and to really make sure its squeeky clean, take a fresh razor blade to it. harbor freight sells a pack of 100 blades for like $3!
