Hello folks, I'm trying to get an external basement sump setup for 2 tanks one of which is a Max E 170. The issue I'm having is trying to figure out how to run the plumbing out from the bottom of the Max 170. I can find a plumbing kit but it looks like the connection fitting are proprietary for the Red Sea and I cant just add regular plumbing without the kit. Has anyone setup not an in cabinet sump below the tank but external to the cabinet sump and what plumbing did you use? Right now I think I had to buy the kit and modify below the tank connections.

has anyone used this Kit RedSea MaxE 170 sump plumbing kit before and can I just cut the ends to add plumbing down stream? Do I need it at all for an out of cabinet sump?
