Just curious if anyone else has noticed what appears to be fake accounts on the forum?

I've seen at least 2 replys in the last day to threads that are first posts from new members that are not fish related.

If you seem them, please report them. Every once is in a while one slips through and we would appreciate the members help in flagging them by hitting that report button.

Agree, we have a small wave of trolls trying to make their way through. Report them for us to look into.

Sure. There are some fake account here- some for scamming via the sales section, others by sellers trying to pepper in positive reviews for their products, others from disgrunted members that have been banned and come back under new accounts. Thankfully, the percentage is pretty small, and the mods have been really attentive to trying to remove these accounts. It helps if you can report them when you see them. However, no system can be 100% perfect and it's the reason there are certain policies such as only allowing secure payment methods to try and alleviate these kind of actions. It's also a reason to have a certain level of skepticism if someone makes an extraordinary claim about a method or product- hence the phrase, "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence".

As mentioned above, if you think an account is suspicious, hit that report button. I do it whenever I see something off with an account to atleast let the mods look it over and gauge an appropriate action if needed. :)

FWIW I've only had to do this a handful of times thankfully and I'm assuming that's due to the work done behind the scenes to keep people like this off the forum. Which I'm sure in this day it's not easy to do...
