I purchased this frag a my local petco a few weeks ago. It was doing fine until about a week ago it started to what looked like to me shriveling up. Yesterday I noticed this little white stick sticking out from the side of the coral. It looked like a tiny fan worm from what I got from google. Is this what’s making the coral shrivel up!? Any help is greatly appreciated!

don't think the fan worm killed it. do you have other corals around or accidentally injured it while moving it.

Shriveling up is sometimes an indication that the coral is receiving too much light. I'm not sure where the coral is located in your tank, but you might want to move to a different spot where the lighting is not as intense and see how it responds.

Have another one but it’s on the other side of the tank. I have the basic orbit marine led light on the tank. And it’s about 3/4 of the way down in the tank which is 18” deep. I bought the mars aqua light I’m waiting to make the stand for it this weekend.

I’ll try moving it to the sand bed to see if that helps out. Thank you!
