Hmmm must be the halides then. Weird how you’re running so much light but the wd only gets 350 par.

The bottom of the fixture to the water surface is 8" and the WD is another 8" below that for a total of 16"from the light source and 4" or 5" off from directly under the Radium bulb. Again if I run the Reef Brite's with the halides and T5's the PAR at the WD jumps to 500. I feel comfortable saying that if I still had my Radions the growth wouldn't come close to what it is now with the halides. I switched to this new fixture a little over a year ago and the difference in growth and color isn't even close to what I was having with the Radion's. I'm not saying the Radions are bad because there are too many reefers having too much success with them. I just suck at growing corals with Radion lighting.

And it’s not an insane amount of flow. Anyone who’s been on a reef slope knows that they can get really really rough sometimes. I just calculated it, i have a nominal 200x flow on my tank (i use the tidal swell mode, 2x mp40s at 50%. Each day after feeding i run it at 100% ntm for a few minutes. If the fish ever minded it, they certainly have gotten used to it)
That being said, I have not been as successful as you. Beyond tank crashes when I was away ( people didn’t dose like I had arranged for them, and KH dropped to 5.6 :( ) , I had minor success, but for a long time my acros have looked sickly.
But then, I left for two weeks earlier this month, and forgot to turn on the skimmer and ATS. (this time, though, the tank sitter dosed the 3 part like they were supposed to) Got back, it had a load of algae and the skimmer rapidly took out dark skimmate, but at the same time the acros showed excellent skin regrowth, and skelatal growth. Seems to me that I was not feeding enough……
