Hello everyone, I am thinking of switching to the FM balling light system. If the KH additives consist of sodium bicarbonate, the Bolus system is known to increase pH. I know that sodium bicarbonate does not have a pH increasing effect. How does this happen?

This isn't the answer you're looking for, but honestly, switch to the DIY's and save yourself the money. You can also customize your alk composition to your preferred pH effect.

It doesn’t.

The two real effects at the root of the “evidence” is that pH rises during the light cycle due to photosynthesis , and the higher the alk, the higher the pH will be.

There is nothing special about bicarbonate or bolus dosing of it.

That said, one can keep a fine tank dosing it by bolus or dosing pump or dosing many other products that will actually raise pH more.

the balling light also contains some polymers wich should improve the tank health and good bacteria. Personnaly Bolus not give me not very high ph (but for some people I now it dose) so I added again the PH scrubber, but corals really seems to love it.
