Favite growth

So I am planning on getting a favite but will it encrust over my live rock or will it create its own mound and dome? Thank You

Whether you are purchasing Favites of Favia, you can expect it to encrust over the shape of your live rock in addition to some vertical growth over time but not to the extent of creating its own mound or dome within the first couple of years of having it.
