Thanks, I don’t have any corals I will research them thanksHydroids. Known to cause irritation to nearby corals by stinging them
Thanks I don’t have any corals, are there any benefit to keeping them ?Agree on hydroids and best is to destroy them by dabbing gel superglue on each head. They thrive off loose food particles in tank, mainly brine shrimp and can spread quickly.
Any other liquids or substances used to kill them will likely kill coral also.
No. They will overtake the tank. No coral = Best time to fight the battle. Thanks I don’t have any corals, are there any benefit to keeping them ?
Thanks for the tip! I was thinking to just remove that piece of rock and doing that with a brush of some sort, thanksIf the rock the Hydroids are on can be removed easily you might want to get a large wire brush and give the rock a good scrub. You should be able to strip that rock down to nothing with that thing. Make sure to do this in a separate bucket of salt water though. GL.
Thanks for your reply, I find them amusing to be honest another form of life in my tank doing more reasearch as I’m new to this hobby, I’m loving this website so far and it’s members seems really helpful and responsiveHydroids tend to die back on their own without much input in most tanks, in my experience.
