Feather duster!

I just bought this feather duster from Petco, I noticed in the bag it looked alittle off, but when I got home I realized it was completely out of his "shell" how can I save this guy and get him back in his "shell"

This is my first feather duster purchase.

Ah bummer.
Finish the acclimation and put it IN the sand or tuck it under a rock.
I belive it’s a stresss response.

I hope it pulls though.

The acclimation is done, I was going to give it a few more minutes and then just put it in my tank, good idea about the sand. I was just going to put him in like a hole in my rock..?

Yup. Someplace it can’t be moved or molested by crabs and such.
It’ll want to excrete another tube and needs time and a place.

Place tube back in a good spot.
Ive had two abandon their tubes and weeks later a new head came out
