I have a feather duster in my tank that has doubled in size since I’ve had it, the worms or “feathers” are full and have good color. I noticed “feathers” although very small, highly resembling that of my feather duster growing from the base of a large carnation tree that was given to me a while back and was wondering if the worms would settle into the base of a coral like that?

Can you post pics?
Sounds like it’s new polyps growing rather than feather dusters.
I was doing a little work so some sand particles are stuck in them but here’s a pic.

Pics on white light would be better for ID.
I’d doesn’t look like dusters to me.
Wakenbaker may be right I haven’t noticed the green until I shifted it closer to get this pic for you guys, I saw it looking more like a feather and my mind didn’t even think hair algae.

Bryopsis...yes I think you are right. After zooming in I can see. I have this in my mixed reef...it sucks. No clean up crew or fish will eat it. Only method I've heard is to use Fluconazole...which I haven't used yet. I've been fighting it manually, scrapping and removing frags to clean.
