Hey everyone i just got a new feather duster for my tank and the guy at the fish store was a little rough with him i think and riped the tube from the bottom right before the part with all the rock on it. What is the best thing to do right now? is it dead? the feathers are still there but idk what to do. the tube is still hanging on a little bit is he going to live?

The tube isn't a part of it's body, it makes the tube using slime and lives in it. The feather dusters body is actually a worm with the feathers on the end. If the feathers break off, the worm will grow them back, so that's also a cool fact.

Leave it be. They can eject when stressed, but can build a new one, as long as there are no fish that will eat it.
