One spot foxface has new feathery growths that weren't there before, most easily spotted at the end of its tail. None of the other fish have anything similar. Could it be a bacterial infection or parasite? Are they flukes?
 
And just now, like a minute later, they're seemingly gone..? Could it just have been from something irritating its slime coat?

Looked like slime they produce on their skin and would have been harmless
