IMO, The color of your light looks pretty good. When I look at your tank you seem to have a lot of dark background, and the tanks your comparing to have a lot of color in them. Perhaps, if you add more rock, or some white sand, that might help the colors pop. Also when your corals grow and mature, I think you'll see a lot more color.

Don't pay attention to those percentages, just saying you the layout. There is no yellow, the "cool white" is the only thing that's yellowing
yea, I usually advise set the colors to look their best on the tank, then adjust intensity. wals away for a while cuz your eye will adjust to the color and come back to it.

very correct, contrasting colors will make stuff pop or be "flat"
look again at the pics you posted, youll see this a bit.
Honestly though I don't recall ive seen a Prime in person. so it could be a bit of the nature of the light.

I think I know what you mean. I've always diy'd my own lights and went thru the same kinda issue on my last tank. Just wasn't quite crisp enuf, for lack of a better word. I had RB, V, NW & OCW (which was B, C & R). Everything had good color but just kinda blah, dull. Then out came the Lime led's and everyone that used them raved about how they brightened up the tank visually. I added 2 to my array and holy crap, what a difference! Brightened it right up, but still kept all the coral coloration. The lime does nothing for the coral, it's all visual for us, but wow! I was finally happy with my lighting.

Fast forward to my new tank. I again made my own light because nothing off the shelf seemed to fit what I wanted. This time tho, instead of using individual diodes, I went with Nanobox arrays because they include lime led's. I think BlueAcro arrays do as well, but they weren't out a year or so ago when I was building the light. These are visually bright and crisp as well, but they use warm whites instead of using red diodes & I lost a little coral coloration from that I think. Don't get me wrong, they're pretty good, just a step down from what I had. But again they were in puck form & easier to work with. Plus maybe the red will promote more algae growth.

So to sum up, I think the lime is the missing ingredient in these off the shelf lights for brightness/crispness. I know they have green, but not quite the same. I would still like to have red & I could probably add a few in between my arrays to achieve what I'm looking for, just have no interest in tearing the light apart as it's pretty close to being good. So maybe you'll never get 100% of the look you're going for & I may never again either unless I build another light!! Lol. So, I'm settling for pretty close!

This is pretty decent. I favor just a little more blue. On my other tank, the red coral was a little more vibrant than this.

If you have a few more dollars to spend just sell the Prime and get the G4 pro

Can you post pics of the two? I'd love to hear what your likes and dislikes are
