Feedback on my Fish stocking list

Hi Friends,

I am looking for feedback on my planned stocking list. It’s a 76g, that is either with a single Rainsford Goby and a Yellow watchman goby or has no fish. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen either fish in several weeks, but I still hold out small but dwindling hope that they are hiding. I did find and kill a quarter size gorilla crab a few days ago…

My current plan: 1 of each
-Rainsford goby
-Yellow watchman goby
-Lawmower or starry blenny
-Royal gramma
-Chalk bass
-Melanurus or McKosker’s or Laboute’s fairy or another wrasse
-Kole or bristletooth tang
-Ocellaris Clown

I am specifically wondering about stocking number and thoughts on when/ which order to add the fish in.

FWIW, I have a Ranfordii I only see every few months. Only issue I see with your list is you'll likely have to rehome the brisstletooth at some point as it grows. This paper on sterieotypy may help you with fish behavior.

I would add clowns first if they are babies. Then the gobies and blennies, royal gramma, wrasse, bass then the tang last. I would go with starry blenny if you are doing any kind of bristletooth tang as a lawnmower blenny will compete for algae with the tang and would make algae harder to find as tangs graze all day long! Just my opinion

starry blennies still eat algae but not hair algae as lawnmowers do. Ive got 3 soon to be 4 tangs in my big tank and a lawnmower blenny and use a veggie clip for dried nori. All my algae eaters love that stuff, your tang will love it too. You could also look into a dwarf angel instead of a tang as bristletooths get 6-8 inches and they can look huge in your size tank (speaking from experience) and may not have enough room to swim when they get big. Dwarf angels have similar shape and swim openly too but stay smaller! So theres that option as well if you decide a tang isnt going to work in your tank

Do you plan on corals?? If so angels are always capable of eating corals and they need sponge in their diet, you can get this frozen. I love coral beauties, they are one of the most “reef safe”. I currently have a yellow fin dwarf angel in one tank and a dwarf golden angel in my other tank, very beautiful fish! I would let your tank mature around 6 months before you get an angel since they also graze on algae as well!

The flame angels and imperator angels are certainly pretty. I definitely have and plan to keep corals.
