Hi, I am quite new to reef tanks . Just wondering I’ve been feeding my soft corals with reef roids. Would this have an effect on my phosphate levels as they seem to have gone up. Or should I use benepets? Thanks

I have heard that roids raise P04. (I feed sparingly). I mix benepets and roids together and feed every 4 days or so. My shrooms seem to respond to roids by closing up (eating) but never on Benepets so they get both along with my Palys and Acan. lol

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Yes, Reef Roids is quite known for raising phosphate. I've personally never used Benepets. Your corals don't have to be fed everyday, most corals will get the nutrition they need from the photosynthetic algae that lives inside them. How ofter are you offering the Reef Roids, what is your phosphate level currently, and what corals are you keeping?

Reef Roids absolutely add a lot of Phos to your tank. I would only use it sparingly with frequent testing. IMHO fish poop and broadcast feeding mysis is more than enough food for ur softies
