Feeding time

Man these fish are conditioned, swimming already like crazy knowing it's feeding time.

My fish are the same - and even though food arrives through the returns at the back, they greet me at the front like yours do - until they smell the food coming!

I put a little reef energy into the tank before feeding and they get excited in anticipation of the real food coming. It’s usually a crazy few minutes of activity.

Occasionally I need to change the timing and number of feedings from the auto feeder and it always amazes me how conditioned the fish were to the previous settings. For a couple of days youll see them go to the feeder at the times that it used to feed and just hang out waiting.

We put frozen food in a bowl on top of the tank to thaw and the fish literally circle the area looking up at the bowl like little sharks in anticipation of what's to come. :D
