Fighting Conch disappeared

[Defect]

Just wondering if anyone else may have had this happen.

About a month ago I saw my fighting conch bury itself in the sand never to be seen again. This morning I wake up and he is out and about in my tank again. I wrote him off as being dead and my clean up crew maybe ate him....NOPE! Is this a common thing to happen with this creature?

Very common I have 3 always vanish then boom there they are lol
