I have a fairly large fighting conch and I'm concerned he's running out of food. He's wiped the sanded in my 75 clean. I've tried spirulina algae disks and nori, the other snails love it but he doesn't seem interested. Doesn't seem to like any of the algae growing on the glass or rocks, either.

what the heck do these guys eat?

I love those guys! When the natural algae runs out— and I agree they are incredible for that— is when mine tended to die. I would say sinking pellets scattered throughout the sand would be your best bet. Not like you’ll ever see one “run” over to it. Lol! Best wishes.

Lol yours actually eats? Mine doesn’t, mine is lazy but I love her. How is he now?

Mine scavenges detritus from the sand bed. Not sure what I'd do if it seemed his food supply was running low.

Hey. Im thinking of buying a conch. Need something to sift my sand. How is yours doing?

I’ve owned three, and as you noted, I have never seen them on glass or rock. But powerhouses in the sand, for sure. Have you tried those extra large sinking algae pellets (‘catfish’ kind, I call them— about dime size) that probably none of you fish will be interested in?
