fiji cube 32 AIO water level

Setting up a Fiji cube 32 aio.
The water level in the filter sock chamber is high and keeping the rim of the sock under water.
I’ve tried reducing the amount of water in the display and the speed of the return pump. It’s currently set to 55 (1-100).
Nothing seems to drop the water level in either the left or right side chambers.
Both the lower weirs are closed all the way.
What am I missing.

Sock is probably dirty and not draining fast enough. Is everything normal if you remove the sock?

If I’m understanding the issue you need to increase power to the pump. Increasing it raises the level in the tank (and reduce in pump section which should also bring it down in other sections). If it looks like the tank may overflow you can remove water from the tank section. It could be the sock is too dirty but you state you’re just setting up so I’d be surprised if that’s it.

I increased to 100 power on pump and the water level in tank did go up slightly and water in sock chamber did go down slightly but not where there is nearly no water above the rim of the sock.

So there’s at least 3-4 inches of water above the rim of the sock. Hope that makes sense.
With the pump at 100% the water in the display is 1inch from rim of tank.

How is the water levels in the pump compartment?

Something you could try is removing the sock temporarily. Also- I remember when I first got mine the socks wouldn’t fully get wet. I had to wet them by hand in a bucket.

Pulled the sock, no change.
Water in center chamber is a little over 1/2 full. The stock media shelf is in that chamber. Also, the second shelf is just barely underwater..

Is it possible there’s not enough water? I’ve got to be missing something really simple.
I thought a bag of carbon or purigen may have been stuck ithe flow between chambers, but that’s not it.

Yes. In the return pump chamber the water should just barely be under the baffle that separates them

It does sound like you may not have enough water. Just want to be careful that if there’s too much water the main display could in theory overflow. It happened to me one time because my suck was too dirty and had a lot of Coraline building up in the baffles.
