I’m excited to post this tank, when I was shopping I couldn’t find anyone else with a FijiCube drop off tank yet. There weren’t any reviews or videos of it setup so I was a little nervous. But about 6 weeks in and so far, so good. This isn’t a new build per se, this started as a Fluval 13.5 Christmas present to my 3 Y.O. Daughter then grew to a 40b tank. Recently we had a leak somewhere on the 40b so we needed a new tank. Prior to setting up the 40b I had reached out to a couple of companies to see if they could build a custom drop off tank to my specs (this was before Fijicube’s options) at the time the quotes were a little too much to justify so instead I picked up the 40b, drilled it and built a super budget tank. About a year in I started to see small salt creep in the plastic trim around the bottom. Around 2 years in I would clean the salt creep in the morning and I’d have salt dripping off the trim by dinner so I needed to either pull this whole tank apart and see if I could fix it or upgrade. I looked at every LFS within 3 hours of me for a 3 foot peninsula and no one had a reef ready option available. After that I found the FijiCube tank online and ordered it that day.

So here’s the current setup:

Tank: 84G Fiji Cube Drop Off

Lights: 2x Ecotech Radion XR15 gen 5 blue

Water movement: 2x AI Nero3, Sicce voyager 3

Return: Ecotech S2

Filtration: FijiCube rollermat

Clear Water Algae Scrubber

Bubble Magus 5 Elite skimmer

Control: Neptune Apex Pro

Tunze Osmolator 3 Nano

Great tank! I’ve always loved the drop off tanks! Lemme see some side profiles!
It’s always been such an interesting tank to me and awesome to see a mainstream company making them now. These are from about a month ago, I need to get some updated shots of the tank.

That’s awesome! I’m jealous I didn’t have the room for the length of the 112 but I still wish I had gotten that one anyway.

Such a cool tank, and great to see it in a thread on here! Following because I really want to see how it progresses
Thanks! I went back and forth on it since I didn't see any builds in the forums. I'm glad I made the leap into it.

Having the drop down next to the chair gives the perfect view into the tank, it's great

How do you like the roller matt??
So far so good. It’s only been on the tank for a few weeks so far. I was worried because it has terrible reviews and it’s definitely less user friendly. I wanted to use the Red Sea ReefMat but didn’t want to cut up the sump. So I started out with 2 of the ReefMat nanos in the filter sock holders and those sucked.

Space in the stand is very tight so I built this equipment board to house all the controllers and keep them off the ground out of reach of any possible water.

Recently added a new inhabitant, a Kuiter's Leopard Wrasse. He’s been in about 2 weeks now and is pretty well acclimated to the tank and other fish now. They really are a pain to get good pictures of though.

On another note, I’m thinking of re-scaping the bottom drop off rock work. My three options ate

1. Leave it as is and cover it in coral.
2. Leave the structure as it is and build a structure on the glass to the side of the rocks to attach coral up the wall.
3. Move the rocks to the center and make a cave/ rock pile and create that same structure but use the entire back glass to attach and grow corals up the wall.

Here’s how it looks right now for reference

Thank you so much for sharing your 84G Fiji Cube Drop Off build! The aquascape and overall setup look absolutely amazing. We love seeing how everyone brings their own creativity to the Drop Off series. Looking forward to seeing how this reef grows over time!
